The Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee (CIB&RC) of the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage (DPPQS) has released a public notice about the Republic of Lebanon’s ban on the registration and import of pesticides that contain the active ingredient Oxamyl.

The notice was sent in response to an official message from the Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon and was approved by the Secretary of CIB&RC.
- Agricultural pesticides with Oxamyl as an active ingredient are prohibited.
- The Ministry of Agriculture, Republic of Lebanon, is the issuing authority.
- Resolution Details: Resolution No. 516/1, dated September 22, 2025, contains the prohibition.
International Alert for India’s CIB&RC Alerts Stakeholders on Lebanon’s Oxamyl Ban
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in India received a non-official English translation of the decision from the Embassy of the Republic of Lebanon, urging that it be distributed to all relevant authorities for their knowledge and appropriate action.
According to the CIB&RC, in order to guarantee adherence to the new international trade regulation from Lebanon, the Resolution is being distributed for the “information and general awareness of all concerned stakeholders,” especially those engaged in the production, registration, and export of agricultural chemicals.
A broad-spectrum carbamate pesticide, oxamyl is frequently used as an insecticide, acaricide, and nematicide to manage pests in a variety of fruits and field crops.
