APVMA Updates Agricultural Active Constituents Standards

The Agricultural and Veterinary Chemical Code (Agricultural Active Constituents) Standards 2022 (the Active Standards) have been amended by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).

The amendments include:

· Adding standards for new active constituents not previously covered.

· Making minor corrections and adjustments to existing standards.

· Implementing more substantial changes to standards for the common herbicide 2,4-D, based on a recent chemical review.

· Updating the definition of a validated analytical method.

In September 2022, the APVMA made a draft of these changes available for public comment. The modifications become operative on May 9, 2024, the day the final instrument was registered. This Gazette No. 13 has been released on Tuesday 25 June 2024.
