To make the registration procedure for some chemical goods easier, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) today announced the introduction of a new legislative instrument. The APVMA has released the first document of its type, called the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code (Interchangeable Constituent) Determination 2024.
This is the first ever “Interchangeable Constituent” Determination issued by the APVMA. It applies to specific inactive ingredients in suspension concentrate and flowable suspension concentrate products. In simpler terms, manufacturers can now switch between Tersperse 4896 and Tersperse 4894 surfactants without the usual paperwork hassle.
Previously, a more involved application would have been required from firms looking to make such a modification. Holders can now file a less complicated Notifiable Variation in accordance with the revised ruling, simplifying the procedure and lowering administrative costs.
This programme demonstrates the APVMA’s dedication to upholding strict safety regulations while increasing the effectiveness of the chemical registration system.
