The Chile Ministry of Agriculture has published four regulations to enhance clarity and oversight in the biostimulant and fertilizer sector. These regulations address composition, quality, labelling, and control procedures for both imported and domestically produced products. The move aims to standardize practices and ensure the quality and safety of these agricultural inputs.
The four resolutions, cover the following key areas:
- Resolution 8561/2024: This resolution determines the minimum nutritional element content and the maximum allowable contamination levels in fertilisers and biostimulants. This assures product effectiveness while minimising any environmental risks.
- Resolution 8563/2024: This resolution establishes the tolerances for official composition analysis and quality parameters for imported and locally manufactured fertilisers and biostimulants. This establishes a clear approach for evaluating product conformity.
- Resolution 8564/2024: This resolution specifies the obligatory labels and brochures for fertilisers and biostimulants. This guarantees that customers receive clear and accurate information about the product’s composition, usage directions, and safety measures.
- Resolution 8562/2024: This resolution provides methods for controlling and collecting samples to validate the composition and quality criteria of fertilisers and biostimulants imported and domestically produced. This establishes a method for enforcing laws and assuring product quality.
These Chile Biostimulant and Fertilizer Regulations are designed to increase openness and standardisation in Chile’s biostimulant and fertiliser markets, benefitting both producers and consumers. The Ministry of Agriculture’s program demonstrates its commitment to developing sustainable farming practices and maintaining the quality of agricultural inputs.
